Nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, these well-maintained trails wind through snow-covered forests and around serene lakes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The Jackrabbit Trail is named after Herman “Jack Rabbit” Johannsen, a legendary skiing pioneer in both the Adirondacks and Canada. While living in Lake Placid in the early 20th century, Johannsen helped establish some of the original routes still used on today’s trail.
